Bloomingdale's wonderland

For all you Alice in wonderland fans, Bloomingdales will have their own display of Alice in Wonderland at their 59th street windows! They will use actual props from the set as well as fashion from Tom Binns jewelry line and dresses by Sue Wong. Now who's going to NYC avec moi?

Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama was seen wearing a pinstripe suit ensemble by Alexander McQueen and she looked quite fabulous! I truly love her sense of style! She is then next Jackie K, who in fact once asked Valentino to make a whole wardrobe for her! Hint hint Valentino, M. Obama would look stunning in Valentino Red...

how to wear blazers (this one is for you pudeler!)

So everyone knows that the boyfriend jacket/blazers are in right now. From the relax tuxedo look to embellishments and sequences this piece of clothing is very versatile from wearing. during the day to a night out. This was first a spring trend but carried to the fall, and still very fashionable now during winter. Blazers can be worn many different ways. Dark skinny jeans for the chic look/ night look. A more relax look can be with a lighter wash jean. I suggest wearing a looser shirt to balance the geometrical look of the blazer. You want to look relax and fashionable at the same time. Not like you are the CEO of a company which shouts out uptight. Long necklaces with simple flowy shirts look great with blazers! Pushing up the sleeves like Gweneth makes the blazer makes you look comfortable and more of a day look. As for college students this look lessens looking overdressed for class. Note: flats will elongate your legs versus wearing high boots during the winter. So for winter I suggest wearing ankle boots with blazers and jeans to keep your body proportional.

Great places to get blazers:Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, H&M, Macys, Saks, Express
I feel that forever 21's blazers has cuts aren't for everyone.
Hope that helps Pudeler! :) <3

Choo's Comfort-Chic

Jimmy Choo and Ugg Australia announce a limited-edition collaboration

(NEW YORK) "Other than Jimmy Choo, UGG Australia is the only other footwear I have in my wardrobe," said Tamara Mellon in a statement released today. An odd confessional, perhaps, for the president and founder of one of the more glamorous shoe companies around, but it seems that Mellon is melding her two shoe loves together: Jimmy Choo and Ugg Australia announced a collaboration for a limited-edition co-branded women's sheepskin footwear products, which will be available in stores this October.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer the Jimmy Choo and UGG customers a unique collection of boots that we believe our customers will covet," said Connie X. Rishwain, president of Ugg Australia. "The boots are a seamless combination of luxury comfort that the UGG customer has grown to love meeting the high fashion and bold look that Jimmy Choo has perfected." The boots, based on the traditional Ugg "with design details that embody the spirit of the Jimmy Choo brand," will come in five styles in a variety of colors. They will be available in limited distribution at Jimmy Choo and Ugg stores (where they will retail between $595-$795), as well as select department and specialty stores, jimmychoo.com, and uggaustralia.co

What You’ll See On Tour

Hop on the On Location Tours' Gossip Girl Sites Tour to see great locations from America’s most popular teen drama, Gossip Girl, based on the famous series written by Cecily Von Ziegesar. Take a look at the spots where hot young actors like Blake Lively (who plays Serena Van der Woodson) and Chace Crawford (who plays Nate Archibald) take on the roles of socialite teenagers. Take a look at New York’s Upper East Side elite society of sex, drugs, jealousy, and the pressures of the prestigious academic institutions they attend.

Elite Upper Manhattan and Midtown

The Gossip Girl Tour begins by exploring the Upper East Side, a very exclusive Manhattan neighborhood. “Hello, Upper East Siders!” is Gossip Girl’s opening line to every episode and on the Gossip Girl Tour you’ll feel like she’s talking directly to you! Experience a day in the life as one of Manhattan’s elite.

What’s morning like in the Bass household? Begin the tour in the courtyard at the luxurious New York Palace Hotel, owned by Bass Industries on the show, where Chuck Bass and his “adopted” family, the Van der Woodsens, wake up every morning to a fully catered breakfast from the Palace’s unparalleled service professionals. Ranked as one of the top 100 hotels in the world and celebrated for its luxurious accommodations, the New York Palace is an icon of Manhattan splendor.

Inside the Palace is not only the home of two of Gossip Girl’s elite families, but also the location of many a Gossip Girl intrigue. Gilt, the fine dining restaurant on the ground floor of the Palace, is where the Bass brunch took place, was the site of the first “reunion” of Serena and Blair after Serena’s mysterious disappearance and where Dan picks up Serena’s dropped cell phone, as well as where the lascivious Chuck tried to win Serena’s affection with a special-ordered grilled cheese sandwich with truffle oil.

Next, head up to the Constance Billard School for Girls and the St. Jude School for Boys just like our favorite students. Both are located on the Upper East Side, though on the show they are located at a fictional address in the middle of the East River! On the tour, you'll recognize The Synod of Bishops Russian Church and the Museum of the City of New York as the exteriors of your favorite private school.

Continue down Fifth Avenue towards Blair Waldorf’s apartment building. Located in the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side, this handsome “pre-war” apartment house built in 1925 with private elevator landings in each apartment is considered one of Carnegie Hill’s finest. Apartments are listed here from $4million to $7million.

Several blocks away is the real inspiration behind The Constance Billard School for Girls, The Nightingale-Bamford School. An elite Upper East Side school for girls, Nightingale is where Cecily von Ziegesar, the author of the Gossip Girl books on which the TV show is based, attended until her high school graduation (tuition at The Nightingale-Bamford School runs around $35,000/year).

And only one more block away is the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, located in the former Andrew Carnegie Mansion, the site of the Bass/van der Woodsen wedding. Further down Museum Mile you will find the Metropolitan Museum of Art, on the steps of which sit many a “Queen B” lunch crew. In real life, these steps are often frequented by the girls from the Marymount School, another elite UpperEast Side school for girls.

Lower East Side

The tour then makes its way down to New York’s Lower East Side. Historically a haven for immigrants, the Lower East Side now hosts a new generation of artists and merchants, creating a trendy getaway great for shopping and dining. Get a taste of this trendy area on both our Gossip Girl Sites Tour and the New York TV & Movie Tour.

Check out the secret nightclub, The Box, also known as Chuck Bass’s burlesque club, Victrola. Beautifully sexy booths draped in velvet with heavy curtains and barely dressed performers make this one of the sexiest spots in the city. Be forewarned: these shows are definitely more Chuck Bass than Rufus Humphrey, if you catch our drift.

Get an eyeful of the basketball court at Sarah D. Roosevelt Park, where the Gossip Guys shoot hoops, often in rather questionable outfits (purple velour jumpsuit, anyone?).

Finally, you will get a chance to see movie theatre that is the site of Dan and Serena’s failed second date, Sunshine Cinemas.

All of these great locations, and so many more, can be seen on this fun guided tour through New York City. Your sightseeing won’t be complete without going On Location.

sometimes blonde looks better

i usually think when people dye their hair darker, they look great. But Britney Spears needs to stop dyeing her hair dark brown. she looks awful. i love her as a blonde. like her bag tho Maybe a lighter shade of brown would be nicer, like the old school, hit me baby one more time Britney. haha

chanel temporary tattoos

Apparently Chanel is making temp tattoos an in thing this year.... and i'm loving the idea!!
(Btw i think the model's makeup is wonderfully done for this ad!) I don't think it looks trashy at all, if used properly.

Called Les Trompe L'Oeil de CHANEL Temporary Skin Art, these limited edition designs are based on the temporary tattoos that global creative director Peter Philips designed for the Paris runway show. Each pack contains five sheets (with 55 total designs included in each) and starting in mid-February they will be sold for $75.00 at Chanel.com.

I think it's really interesting and kinda want to buy one! haha

Fight Against Faux Fragrances

In Harper's BAZAAR, the Kate Hudson Fashion Preview issue (one of my absolute fave issues) they had this article on Buying counterfeit perfume. I found it really interesting. They exposed what's really inside the bottle. I've personally never bought fake perfume, but I know some people who do. I always wondered how different the perfume is from the store to shady places in China Town.

Basically, Fakes have been found to contain contaminated alcohol, ANTIFREEZE, urine, and harmful BACTERIA. That's why there have been some reported cases of people breaking out into rashes and hives when buying fake designer perfume.

There are Busts and raids of shipments of phony perfumes with an equivalent retail value of nearly $5 million was seized. According to the magazine, "Knockoffs are poorly made, cheap, and reactive. You don't have accountability with a knockoff. It could be made in someone's bathtub for all you know. Bard reactions range from a runny nose to redness and eczema". -Isn't that CRAZY?!

Like fake bags, knockoff fragrances are tied to organized crime and illegal activity. It takes jobs from legitimate industries. Thus buying these items supports gangs, drug dealing, guns, murders, extortion, human trafficking, child labor, and terrorism.

And who likes buying from sketchy places? I've been in those talked about 'secret doors/basements' in China Town and they are
SKETCHY! And if a police raid were to happen you're basically stuck there or will be arrested. Just think of fakes as drugs, police bust the place, your screwed. There have been stories when there's a raid, "vans drive off with customers and vendors turn off the electricity in buildings, leaving people trapped in the dark for hours on end"

How to Spot a Fake Scent:
View ImageTake a closer look: if label is poorly printed, misspelled, smudged and the bar code looks sketchy.
Buy Right: department stores are the way to go.
Don't Be fooled: Real fragrances are not sold on tables in tourist hot spots or at flea markets, supermarkets, discount stores, or out of the back of a truck.
Beware the bait and switch: some vendors display the real fragrance up front and substitute a fake when you buy it.

Anyways. there are discount places you can go to if your dying to get a certain scent. It's really not worth it buying a fake bag, perfume, jewelry...

kardashian perfume

i absolutely love kim kardashian! i think she's gorgeous; however, the ad for her perfume is horrific! first of all she's usually tan and her long hair is pulled up. she looks like she has no eye makeup and her lipstick should've been a similar shade to the perfume bottle to complement the perfume to her. the bottle itself is sooooo plain. i love perfumes with super cute bottles. The only thing I really like is basically her shoes I guess. The perfume just looks so cheap. Oh well...Kim Kadashian, Fragrance Ad
this article is so sad.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/06/nyregion/06about.html?partner=rss&emc=rss

it's about how stores like H&M and Walmart in the city destroy clothes that aren't in season and are left to be thrown out rather than donating them to shelters and such. They even have machines that can poke holes! It's so sad that during hard times of the recession rich companies have the audacity to not even help. They truly only want to profit and do no good. so disgusting.

How to look cute during the winter

I always found it difficult to look super cute during the freezing days of Winter. I found these tips from InStyle and I thought I'd elaborate on them...

7 Ways To Look Cozy-Chic (Not Dumpy!)

Cuff Your Jeans

Joy BryantWhen the temps turn freezing, nothing sounds more appealing than putting on your favorite pair of jeans and an ultra-long grandpa cardigan. Avoid looking dowdy by cuffing your denim—the rolled-up hem slims the cut of the jeans, balancing out the cardigan's bulk. Bonus: You get to show off your favorite winter boots!

my opinion: I like long cardigans, BUT i hate it when people wear short coats with them. So make sure you have a long coat with it because you will look like that crazy homeless lady who pushes her cart in the movie Confessions of a shop-a-holic. I don't know if I like rolling up jeans... It kinda looks boyish to me, but hey some people can pull of the boyfriend look and still look girly, so more power to them!

Pair Sleek Accessories With Skinny Jeans

Cameron DiazKeep your bundled-up top half in check with a skinny jeans/sharp accessories combo. The slim leg will balance out a heavy coat, and patent accessories, will keep the look sleek, not frumpy.

my opinion: I love this idea and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look on Cameron Diaz!! It makes you seem really classy and everything balances out! You can wear this for different occasions to dressing it up to an everyday look. Its easy to shop for this look and it's simple.

Slim Your Silhouette With Leggings

RihannaYour favorite roomy wrap sweater needs only one thing to go from couch to street—leggings! The stretchy (hence comfy) pant creates a slender bottom half, balancing out your sweater's bulk. Add a waist-defining belt and leg-lengthening platforms like Rihanna for a chic, cold-proof look!

My opinion: everyone who knows me knows that i ABSOLUTELY love leggings! I esp loving leggings with small embellishments. Such as small zippers, studs, etc. NOT the leggings with holes and rips. I feel leggings can make people look chic IF DONE RIGHT. leggings are not pants! I am sooo for wrap sweaters with leggings. I love having flowy, loose tops balanced with tight leggings NOT with tight tops.

Pile on the Thin Knits

Milla JovovichWhen it comes to your favorite sweaters, choosing only one is never easy—so why torture yourself? Wear them all! The trick is avoiding chunky knits and opting for thinner sweaters and cardigans that layer easily, without adding bulk. Take a cue from Milla Jovovich and choose knits in the same color family to keep your picks from looking random.

my opinion: hmmm i would soo do this if I didn't have to do laundry. I like the idea, but make sure they're thin sweaters/cardigans or you will look insanely funny.

Wear Soft and Flowy With Warm and WoolyDiane KrugerDon't shun your entire warm-weather wardrobe: Silk and chiffon dresses can be perfect with wool sweaters and heavy coats—their flowy silhouette keeps bulkier pieces from overwhelming an outfit, plus they showcase your legs! The trick is to chooselightweight skirts and dresses in seasonless colors like Diane Kruger's black and white printed version, making it anyone's guess when you bought it!

my opinion: i love wearing dresses with tights! But let's be real, who likes wearing wool? I'm really feeling bright tights from HUE too! They're on the thicker side Wearing dresses also shows off winter boots :)

Trade Your Coat for a Cape

Natalie PortmanSick of wearing your huge winter coat day in and day out? Change things up with a sleekcape for almost as much warmth, but a lot less fabric. Get a fresh, preppy look likeNatalie Portman by pairing wide-leg jeans and a printed scarf with a nautical-inspired cape.

my opinion: uhhhh Natalie Portman looks like Queen Elizabeth here eh? Hmmm i'd say wear smaller capes? Who buys CAPES? hahah I do like this cape however, it i'd ditch the scarf because she looks like she doesn't have a neck. Here's where i'd wear pants that are tight. You gotta be careful with this look or you might look like your from the Victorian times.

Trade Up With a Fedora

Sienna Miller - FedoraSwap your chunky beanie or oversize trapper hat for a sleek fedora like style setter Sienna Miller. The streamlined silhouette keeps your ears warm (promise!) and avoids the bulk of a wooly scarf, glove and hat set.

my opinion: I love Fedoras! However, wasn't that a summer look? I'm pretty sure if you look at summer issues of fashion magazines, Fedoras were under 'what's hot right now'...

and that's it! For winter i know i stock up on cardigans, dresses, tights, leggings lots of scarves, and cute boots.
